In every parts of social media, you open an account and follow some id’s. And then wait for that id to follow you back. That’s a nice and natural reaction. But did they followed you back?

When someone follows you in twitter or other social platforms, following back is like showing RESPECT.

Well when they don’t follow you back, we always think that the main reason is EGO. Big id Small id ego. But that’s not the only reason.

Communication is a two-way process. If people retweet, favorite or mention you in their tweets, then you should respond to them. You may not be able to interact with everyone but try to thank them as frequently as you can. It is also advisable to start a conversation than to wait for someone. People love to follow interactive users as they expect conversations with them as well.

It is expected that you may be following more accounts than the ones following you, but a large difference in these numbers creates suspicion. Trying to increase your followers by following tons of users often raises a red flag that your account is spam. You should maintain a balanced follower-following ratio and should not go serious on that Follow button.

Your tweets can be read globally, however if you tweet in a different language than most of your audience you may not gain sufficient followers. If you are a larger organization and have an international audience then you should create multiple profiles for different languages.

People think you are RUDE when you don’t follow back, but no you’re not rude.

Why would people not follow back a good Twitter user? The first thing to understand about Twitter is that all we have different goals of what we want to do with it.

Maybe because they follow only people they know offline, they want to limit their tweet stream, they follow specific topics or careers, they just started using Twitter, they may not know they stopped following you, they thought they were already following you, they have millions of followers, they didn’t like your introductory direct message (DM), they were tired of your reciprocal tweets, the other person is one of those who DMs everyone and if they don’t hear back, they unfollow. Or they RT something you said and never got a thank you from you.
